AAC Class of 2014 – Andrea Altamirano
17 years old
High School: Colegio Nacional Galapagos
Andrea has had a lot of experience with social community work. She is currently studying in Colegio Nacional Galapagos and is attending the International Baccalaureate. As part of the curricula, she has had the opportunity of volunteering in many community services that have helped her develop a deep sense of empathy towards our local population. Andrea describes herself as somebody who likes to take advantage of everything that life gives her. Her life objective is becoming a professional and getting to see new places. She loves to interact with people from our community and would like, as an Agents of Change, to become part of the positive transformation that she thinks is so important for our community.
She sees the Academy as an opportunity of becoming more empathic with our community; learn how to be able to organize and reach the objectives that she wants to set up.
Andrea is interested in solving the lack of information that our community has regarding social initiatives or community projects that are being run in Puerto Ayora. She wants to be able to present this information in a creative way so that our community can become more active in social initiatives that exist in Santa Cruz.
