The dawn of a new model of change in the sunshine state

Miami, here we come!

Palmer Trinity School (PTS), in collaboration with Lonesome George & Co., has launched the first social entrepreneurship extra-curricular program in Florida and the North America! Based on our original educational model in Galapagos, the PTS Academy of Agents of Change enables youth to plan and execute initiatives that directly impact their communities – by doing good the smart way.

Twelve participants from the school, between 15 to 18 years of age, will go through the experiential learning process designed exclusively for them, facilitated through a partnership with our organization under the Ashoka and Outward Bound Ecuador outline. Most of these promising young leaders are currently in 11th and 12th grades. They’ll travel from Florida to North Carolina, to the Andes in Ecuador, and to the Galapagos Islands to complete the 6 Modules that will equip them to become Agents of Change.

The school will give students permission to attend the outings and later help catch-up on academics. The PTS Academy runs as an extra-curricular activity during the 2014-2015 school year. After that, students are encouraged to implement their initiatives, involve the community, and create sustainable solutions from the ground up.

We are so proud to launch this initiative, the first of its kind in the U.S., with Palmer Trinity School. This is an opportunity to help support the social entrepreneurial passion of Florida’s youth and we are committed to helping them succeed. It’s just one more step in our mission to change the world…one community at a time!
